Drawing inspiration from our
founder Blessed Chavara, a great visionary, reformer and religious leader
of the 19th century, the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) were the
first indigenous religious congregation for men in India. The CMI have
dedicated themselves to education at all levels. At present, our mission
of education comprises a vast network of 448 institutions - including
over 200 schools, 14 university affiliated colleges, 1 engineering college,
12 technical institutes, 1 university, 1 medical college, 3 B.Ed. colleges,
5 special schools, 18 non formal educational institutions and 17 cultural
centres spread all over India and beyond.
VOLUNTARY
INSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AND ACTION (VISESA) Registered
in 1984 under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 with Register No. 737/84/GBBSD
(Bombay) conducts CHAVARA ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL,NandurbarI, to help the
integral personality formation and development of the children through
education in Dhule area. Now it is conducting Primary, High School &
Higher Secondary classes for boys and girls.
The
board of Trustees of VISESA is constituted of Fathers belonging to the
congregation of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). This congregation
is now engaged in charitable and educational activities all over India
and abroad. The CMI fathers are infact, pioneers in the field of modern
education in India. They now run various prestigious educational institutions
such as Schools, arts and science colleges, training institutions, Research
centers.
We
use education as means to change the individual and society. We believe
education can be an instrument to liberate individuals and society from
the clutches of superstitions and ignorance.
